Who We Are
Waymaker International represents a God-sized vision born out of a season of adversity. In the midst of a cloud of desperation and hopelessness for its founders, God called them out and sent them on mission to the people of the Eastern Mediterranean.
Our calling is simply this: God's love working through us to draw others to Himself. This is a unique time in history. God is bringing the unreached Nations of the world to us. And His relentless love is transforming the lives of the hopeless, the desperate, the broken.
What We Do
Waymaker International has established a center for refugees that employs hospitality, meals, Bible study, English classes, haircuts, free wi-fi, tea and coffee service, children's activities, women's center, and more as a way to allow refugees to encounter the love of Jesus Christ.
Our mission goes beyond ministering to refugees to reaching residents of Greece in the areas surrounding Samos, all of which are islands best reaching by boat. Using S/V HOPE, a 4-cabin sailing vessel that can sleep up to 8, we move from island to island sharing friendship and the love of Christ as we go just like the Apostle Paul did 2,000 years ago!
We simply love and accept people where they are, as they are. God does the rest. Lives are being changed!
WHERE WE SERVE
Waymaker International has established a presence in Samos, Greece. Samos is a tiny island located almost 200 miles east of Athens and just 2 miles off the coast of Turkey. The island is situated at the crosspoint of East and West and is used as an operational base as the Gospel is spread to the entire region.
Samos is one of 5 islands that operate as intake centers for refugees fleeing the Middle East and Africa and seeking a safer life.
“What a privilege to be in Greece and pray for that nation and see lives being transformed! During my time, I got to be part of seeing a refugee being saved and baptized. One of my favorite parts was being able to teach brothers from Africa. The faith they have is hard to explain. Seeing the difficult things they’ve had to go through every day but they still have BIG smiles on their faces. It made me realize how small my faith is and how blessed I am to have what I have in my life. These guys taught me to be more grateful.”

I went to help bring change to them, but really they helped change me. Working with them brought unity, joy, and purpose to my team.
